It is Time!

I learned very early on, that North Carolina was not the land flowing with milk and honey my mother had described. Obviously at some point between when I was conceived and Dad retired from the Federal Government something changed.
But even then, about 1975, truck drivers were courteous and farmers were right up there with them in that.
It used to be that hwy 42 was the only way to get from Garner to Wilson, my only image of North Carolina. From time to time a farmer would be hauling his tobacco on that road, but the difference is, back then, they'd pull over from time to time to let traffic go by.
It's not that way today. Hwy 50 from Garner to Benson, and hwy 96 from Zebulon to 401 and 401 from that point into Louisburg has rude, HICK drivers who travel fifteen to twenty miles below the posted limit. They NEVER pull over to let traffic go on. Much of the road has a double solid line, so one is faced with a choice; be late for where they're heading, or break the double solid line and pass anyway. It is said that two wrongs do not make a right, but I can tell you. If I can get around these stupid hicks, I will do so.
It is time for law enforcement to enforce minimum speed requirements.
I've been a professional truck driver and I know about tying down loads, etc. The other day, one of these clowns had mobile home underpinning in the back of his broken down Plymouth Arrow pick up. He was probably unable to go above thirty-five without the sheets of aluminum flying out of the bed. He SHOULD have tied it down, but hes' rude like so many are today. He COULD have pulled over from time to time to let traffic get by, but he's an ignorant stupid HICK!
If I were driving a flatbed with an unsecured load like that, I'd be ticketed or at the very least pulled over by DMV.
Going fifteen to twenty miles per hour below posted is a hazard and an indication of idiocy.
There's even a stupid "country" song called International Harvester that brags about being an ignorant hick blocking traffic. They may as well carry a sign saying, "I'm ignorant! Aren't you proud of me!?"
